Miguel Carrillo is a highly accomplished corporate lawyer and business consultant with over 25 years of experience helping his clients expand and do business in foreign markets. He has worked with some of the biggest companies in the world, including Dassault Systemes, Iron Mountain, IBM, Gillette-P&G, and Danone, providing legal counsel to C-suite executives on complex business transactions, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance, among others.
Miguel began his legal career in Mexico, his home country, working for Danone de Mexico and later he was the Head of Legal for Gillette de Mexico, then Assistant General Counsel for the Latin American region for The Gillette Company in Boston, MA. Afterward, he joined IBM Mexico as Legal Director for the Mexico and Caribbean region, expanding his role beyond legal to include corporate security matters as well.
After a stint as General Counsel for Mexican grocery and department store chain, Grupo Chedraui, Miguel joined Iron Mountain Inc.’s legal team in Boston, MA, USA. where he was Vice President and Senior Counsel for the International Region and member of the Executive Team, he led a team of 25 across 40 countries. He worked extensively on commercial contracting, mergers & acquisitions, and crisis management in Latin America, Asia, Northeastern Europe, and the Middle East.
Afterward, Miguel advised companies such as Herman Miller and more recently Dassault Systemes for the Latin American region and the USA.
After a successful corporate career, Miguel decided to shift focus in 2023 to business consulting. Drawing on his extensive legal experience, he advises companies of all sizes in various business industries on how to expand into foreign markets. He helps his clients identify potential risks and opportunities, navigate local laws and regulations, as well as develop successful market entry strategies.
Despite his work schedule, Miguel is a passionate distance runner, having successfully competed in world-class marathons. In his free time, he also enjoys traveling and golfing. Miguel lives outside of Boston, Massachusetts with his wife, Monica, and their two busy teenage daughters.
